Meet the Instructor

Shubha Kumar, PhD, MPH

Shubha Kumar has 15+ years of experience in advancing social impact across various industries, including humanitarian assistance, international development, health, and higher education. She has partnered with leading agencies around the globe, including UN agencies, governments, NGOs, and private corporations. She has also held academic and leadership roles at top universities including the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC), where she is currently an Associate Professor and leads education programs and research in global public health. After more than a decade of independent consulting, she founded Global SROI in 2019 to further extend her consulting services in strategic planning, impact evaluation, and capacity building. Shubha is one of the first scholars worldwide to specialize in social return on investment (SROI) analysis and its application in global health and development contexts. She has led SROI and other types of evaluations in North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. She designed the world’s first online training on SROI analysis, and is on the board of the US chapter of Social Value International, the leading global network and standard-setting body for social impact measurement including SROI.
